At the beginning of December 2023, I started having a non-productive cough. The coughing attacks were rare at first and lasted 5-10 seconds, but gradually became more frequent and prolonged. At the same time, I did not cough up anything, no phlegm. A couple of sips of water or when I ate a piece of food helped stop the attacks. In mid-January, the cough began to haunt me day and night. Every night I woke up several times from my own cough. I didn’t sleep well and felt sleepy all day. I lost my appetite and my weight dropped by 3kg to 83kg. During physical activity, coughing attacks became more frequent, so I was forced to give up visiting the fitness club. I was ashamed to cough non-stop and get puzzled looks from gym goers. I quit vaping, but I couldn’t quit smoking cigarettes. It became clear that it was time to see a doctor.
